Enjoy this video tour of “Dakota the Airstream,” a beautiful 2008 Safari Special Edition 20FB that we’re renting soon on Outdoorsy. We’ve always loved the look of Airstreams, but will we love camping in one?
As a bonus, Dakota features a special modification. The owners removed the original dinette and built a custom sofa that pulls out into a bed. They even added a rotating Lagun Table that allows you to eat, work, and lounge in comfort.
Why we chose this Airstream on Outdoorsy
Dakota the Airstream is 20’10” long with a gross weight of 5,000 pounds. That detail is important to us, because it’s 1,200 pounds below our Jeep Grand Cherry’s towing capacity. Sweet! Airstreams are supposed to be easy to tow because they’re light and aerodynamic. We can’t wait to hit the road in Dakota to discover if that’s true.
Subscribe to the Odometer Dave YouTube Channel to learn about our Outdoorsy rental experience in Dakota the Airstream. We’ll also share our summer adventures in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and what it’s like towing and RVing in an Airstream!
